Introduction
At his ocean front home in chic La Jolla, Mitt Romney is hosting a party for scores of his top campaign bundlers to motivate them on by dangling an Olympic style “medalist” program that can earn a “gold” for those who raise at least $250,000.
But the buzz at the private party may also include a recent San Diego Union-Tribune report that Romney, who plunked down $12 million for his home just three years ago, is planning to scrap the 3,000 square foot house and almost quadruple it in size.
Romney has filed an application with La Jolla city officials to tear down the historic three-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom property once was owned by actor Cliff Robertson.
The party for the bundlers is similar to one that occurred last week at another Romney home on the East Coast, as reported by iWatch News. Last Monday Romney hosted a dinner bash at his New Hampshire home on Lake Winnipesaukee that drew over 100 bundlers who have raised at least $25,000 for the campaign.
